Overview

Highlights: 2-Day Ephesus and Pamukkale Tour
Hierapolis Ancient City, Cleopatra’s Pool, Pamukkale Castles, Hadrian’s Gate, Clock Tower, Ancient Harbor, Fluted Minaret, City Walls, and Duden Waterfall.

Pamukkale, often called the “cotton castle,” takes its name from the stunning white thermal pools filled with hot spring water. These pools are formed when mineral-rich waters from underground rivers rise to the surface. When the water meets the air, the calcium it carries settles and creates striking petrified waterfalls that continuously fill basins with healing hot spring water. Throughout history, Pamukkale has been famous for its therapeutic properties, contributing to the growth of the nearby city of Hierapolis. Pamukkale is recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site for its cultural and natural significance.
Hierapolis, the Greco-Roman city next to Pamukkale, originally began as a Phrygian religious center dedicated to the goddess Cybele. From the 2nd century BC, it became known for its healing waters, and as many visitors came seeking healing and passed away there, it became home to the largest necropolis in the region. The city also grew into a trade hub, especially known for its textiles and fabrics. Hierapolis hosted a diverse population, including Jewish and Christian communities. The city holds great significance in early Christian history, with the tomb of the Apostle Philip and the Martyrdom of St. Philip located here. Today, visitors can explore the ancient city of Hierapolis alongside Pamukkale’s white thermal pools, and the ancient healing center, now known as the Antique Pool or Cleopatra’s Pool, remains open for swimming in its warm, healing waters.
Antalya, Turkey's most important international seaside resort, is the country's third most-visited city. Founded by the Greeks around 150 BC and named after King Attalos II of Pergamon, Antalya became a significant city during the Byzantine Empire. In the city’s historic center, Kaleiçi, visitors can explore narrow streets lined with Ottoman-era houses. The city is rich in historical landmarks, including Hadrian’s Gate, the Clock Tower, the Ancient Harbor, the Fluted Minaret, the City Walls, and the scenic Duden Waterfall.
