Overview

Laodicea, founded by the Seleucid King Antiochus II and named in honor of his wife, flourished as a wealthy Roman city famous for its wool and cotton textile production. The Book of Revelation mentions Laodicea as the "Lukewarm Church of the Apocalypse," and it holds a prominent place in Christian history. Located just 10 kilometers from Pamukkale, Laodicea is a must-see destination for history enthusiasts.
Pamukkale, often called the "Cotton Castle," is renowned for its dazzling white terraces formed by calcium-rich thermal springs. The cascading pools are created when hot spring water, rich in calcium bicarbonate, surfaces, and deposits calcium carbonate, resulting in the iconic white formations. Visitors can explore this natural marvel on foot or even dip in the ancient pool, which is known for its soothing, mineral-rich waters and is surrounded by remnants of historical columns.
Built above Pamukkale's terraces, Hierapolis is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The city was established in the 2nd century BC by the King of Pergamon and flourished under Roman rule.
Wandering through Hierapolis, you can almost feel the energy of its once-bustling streets. Its rich history and enduring legacy in textile craftsmanship make it a truly fascinating place to explore.
