The city also grew into a trade hub, especially known for its textiles and fabrics. Hierapolis hosted a diverse population, including Jewish and Christian communities. The city holds great significance in early Christian history, with the tomb of the Apostle Philip and the Martyrdom of St. Philip located here. Today, visitors can explore the ancient city of Hierapolis alongside Pamukkale’s white thermal pools, and the ancient healing center, now known as the Antique Pool or Cleopatra’s Pool, remains open for swimming in its warm, healing waters.
Antalya, Turkey's most important international seaside resort, is the country's third most-visited city. Founded by the Greeks around 150 BC and named after King Attalos II of Pergamon, Antalya became a significant city during the Byzantine Empire.
